Who we are
Character Planning is a brand new consultancy, founded in 2025. But it is a long time coming.
Character Building Planning is the brainchild of London-based town planner Alex Csicsek. Alex has 15 years experience predominantly in the public sector, primarily focused on historic conservation, urban design and infrastructure planning. He has worked at national, regional, and local levels in contexts ranging from dense urban centres, suburban hinterlands, provincial towns, and historic villages. Most importantly, he loves places, and using the power of town planning to create and restore the best aspects of our cities, towns and villages.
